Tata Consultancy Services will manage 24x7 business critical applications for the airline, ranging from passenger services to flight operations.
The airline conducted a formal vendor selection process upon expiry of the previous contract, before re-awarding the contract to Tata Consultancy Services. The two companies have been working together for the past 12 years.
"Singapore Airlines and TCS have always enjoyed a longstanding relationship which is more a partnership in progress rather than just a service provider relationship," said Girija Panda, executive vice president and head, Tata Consultancy Services Asia Pacific.
Last year, Tata Consultancy Services was awarded a five-year contract with Singapore Airlines Cargo, which encompassed the servicing of the latter's cargo revenue back office accounting processes.
The travel and transportation sector generated four per cent of Tata Consultancy Services's US$5.7 billion (S$8.75 billion) revenue in the financial year 2008.
